1. About these terms
These terms govern access to and use of the Orelqavianessia website and information made available through it. “Club”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Orelqavianessia Philatelists Club Ltd, correspondence correspondence address shown below The Royal Philatelic Centre, London, United Kingdom. By using the website, you agree to comply with these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
2. Purpose of the website
The website provides general information about the Club, philatelic collecting, postal history, events and ways to make contact. Content is educational and informational. It is not a professional valuation, authentication certificate, appraisal or guarantee that a particular stamp or postal item is genuine, rare or valuable.
3. Accuracy of philatelic information
We take reasonable care when preparing descriptions and educational material. Identification can depend on fine distinctions in paper, watermark, perforation, shade, printing, cancellation, condition and provenance. Information may be incomplete or subject to further research. Consult specialist references and qualified experts before relying on an identification for a purchase, sale, insurance or other consequential decision.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the website lawfully and in a way that does not damage, disable, overload or impair its operation. You must not attempt unauthorised access to the website, its hosting environment or associated systems; introduce malicious code; harvest personal information; or distribute unlawful, misleading or infringing material.
5. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, text, layout, graphic elements and original editorial material are owned by or used with permission by the Club. You may view and print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial reference, provided copyright notices remain intact. Reproduction, republication, commercial use or substantial redistribution requires prior written permission from the relevant rights holder. Images of stamps, postal documents and historical material may be subject to third-party rights; their appearance here does not grant permission to reproduce them elsewhere.
6. Enquiries and submitted material
If you submit an enquiry, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are entitled to share any material included. Do not submit confidential information, unlawful content or personal information about another person without an appropriate basis. Sending an enquiry does not create membership or another contractual relationship unless separately confirmed by the Club.
7. Membership and events
Any membership arrangement, meeting programme, event capacity, fees or participation conditions will be communicated separately where applicable. Dates and programme details may change. Attendance is subject to confirmation and event-specific rules communicated by the Club. Visitors are expected to treat other participants and their collections with respect.
8. Care of collections
Users are responsible for the care of their own collections. Advice on handling, storage, mounting and identification is general and must be adapted to the item’s material, condition and provenance. Do not remove stamps from covers, clean, repair, alter or otherwise treat an item solely on the basis of general website information.
9. Third-party websites
Links to external resources are provided for convenience or further research. We do not control third-party websites and do not endorse every statement, product or service they may contain. Accessing an external website is at your own discretion and subject to its terms.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website to maintain, improve or protect the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every page will always be free from technical defects. We may revise these terms by publishing an updated version on this page.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, the website and its general information are provided without a guarantee that they will be suitable for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on general collecting information, interruption of access, or third-party website content. This clause does not affect rights that cannot be excluded under UK law.
12. Privacy and cookies
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Cookie Policy explains the website’s approach to cookies and similar technologies.
13. Governing law
These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise. The courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you may have to bring proceedings in another competent court.
14. Contact

15. No guarantee of rarity, authenticity or value
Descriptions of stamps, covers, proofs, postal markings and other material are provided for educational discussion. They do not constitute an expert certificate, investment advice, a commercial valuation or a warranty of authenticity. The appearance of an item in a club article or display does not establish that it is unique, rare, genuine or correctly attributed. Buyers and sellers should arrange independent examination where the decision warrants it.
16. Images and reproduction of philatelic material
Images may be cropped or adjusted for legibility and website layout. A digital image cannot reliably communicate every physical characteristic, including paper texture, gum, watermark, fluorescence, thickness, repairs or surface condition. Do not rely on an image alone to assess a material feature. Any third-party rights in depicted stamps, documents, photographs or archival records remain with their respective rights holders.
17. Conduct at meetings and exhibitions
Participants must follow reasonable venue and Club instructions, respect the property and privacy of others, and handle displayed material only with the owner’s or curator’s permission. Photography, recording, copying or publication of another participant’s material requires appropriate permission. The Club may ask a participant to stop an activity or leave a session where conduct creates a risk to people, collections or the venue.
18. No agency or partnership
Use of this website or attendance at a meeting does not create an agency, employment, partnership, joint venture or representative relationship between a visitor and the Club. No person may make commitments on behalf of the Club unless expressly authorised.
19. Severability and waiver
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be treated as modified to the minimum extent necessary or, if that is not possible, removed. The remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure or delay in exercising a right does not amount to a waiver of that right.
20. Assignment
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written agreement. The Club may transfer its rights and obligations where this is lawful and does not reduce any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
21. Complaints and disputes
If you have a concern about the website, Club information or an event, contact the Club with a clear description of the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will review the matter and respond within a reasonable period. This informal process does not limit any statutory right or remedy.
22. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms to reflect changes to the website, Club activities or applicable law. The version published on this page applies from its stated review date. Where a change materially affects an ongoing arrangement, we will take reasonable steps to draw it to the attention of the people affected.
